Preparation
- No Fasting Required.
- Drink at least 2 glasses of water about 15 to 30 minutes before the test, so you have enough urine for the sample collection.
- Avoid passing urine for at least 1 hour before the test.
- If possible, collect the urine sample in the Morning for more accurate results.
Overview
Urine culture is used to detect or confirm the presence of a urinary tract infection, identify the organisms responsible and to perform antibiotic susceptibility studies. Even low bacterial counts are considered significant in symptomatic patients, in patients with urological problems & in those who have undergone urological procedures.
